4. What are the types of Rum produced during distillation?

Heavy-Type Rum: This is rum which is collected from the distillate in such a way during the early stages of distillation, that it has a high percentage of congeners.

Light-Type Rum: After the desired amount of heavy-type rums are obtained, the remaining condensate is then rectified to produce light-type rums. The light-type rum forms the body of a rum during blending, with heavy-type rums being added for flavour.
