13. What determines the colour of Rum?

Gold Rum (Gold Magic Rum): The initial colour of gold rum is attained from the barrels during the aging process. A final adjustment to the colour is made by the addition of caramel (the degree of colour is the manufacturers' choice).

White Rum (White Magic Rum): This is a light-type rum which is blended using aged rums. What little colour it attains during aging is removed by a chemical process, thereby rendering the final product colourless.
